This Privacy Policy explains how RentMate collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the RentMate mobile app and web app.
1. Information We Collect
When you use RentMate, we may collect and store the following information:
- Account details such as your full name, email address, and phone number
- Property and PG details such as PG name and address
- Tenant information entered by you, including names, phone numbers, room details, rent details, payment status, and due dates
- If you choose to use contact import, only the selected contact's name and phone number are read from your device contacts to prefill tenant details
- Expense and payment records entered by you
- Documents uploaded by you for tenant management
- Technical information required for notifications and app functionality, such as push notification tokens
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Create and manage your RentMate account
- Let you manage PG, tenant, room, rent, payment, and expense data
- Prefill tenant details when you explicitly choose to import a contact
- Send transactional emails such as password reset emails
- Support reminders, notifications, and app features that you choose to use
- Maintain app reliability, security, and performance
RentMate does not use your contact list for marketing, advertising, profiling, or background syncing.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data only with service providers required to operate the app, such as email delivery providers, cloud infrastructure providers, and notification providers. These providers process data only as needed to deliver app functionality.
4. Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Documents and Uploaded Content
Documents uploaded through RentMate are stored only to support tenant and property management features. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload and manage those documents.
6. Notifications
If you enable notifications, RentMate may send local or push notifications related to rent reminders and app activity. You can disable notifications from your device settings at any time.
7. Your Choices
You can update profile information inside the app. You can also stop using the app at any time.
Contact import is optional and user-initiated. If you do not want to use it, you can deny the contacts permission and continue entering tenant details manually.

8. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account, tenant, property, payment, expense, and uploaded document data for as long as it is needed to provide the app's features, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
If you import a device contact, the selected name and phone number are retained only as part of the tenant record you choose to save. RentMate does not keep a separate copy of your full contacts list.
If you delete records inside the app, those records are removed from active use. If you want to request account-level deletion or privacy support, contact us using the email below.

9. Children's Privacy
RentMate is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
